This Browns Valley home was renovated to provide outdoor enjoyment surrounded b a strong and colorful planting palette. A lap pool and spa with fire pit in the rear garden provided yearend enjoyment. The front garden of pond and sitting terrace with meandering path from the drive provides a gentile sense of entry with surviving deer proof plantings. 

FOOTHILL BLVD POOL | CALISTOGA

A large lap pool with spa and baja ledge, concrete surround fire pit terrace, concrete stair link to existing upper terrace is accessed through a metal privacy gate and Ipe fence. Pool enclosure below deck is also Ipe clad. A cable railing system ties all stairs together for a more modern feel.

GUERNEVILLE RESIDENCE

This country retreat was developed for outdoor relaxation and entertaining. An expansive steel shade structure with river cobble columns provides a respite from afternoon sun and also serves for solar panel use. Meandering flagstone and gravel paths, fieldstone and RR Tie retaining walls and steps tie all outdoor use areas together. A large lawn off the main house  provided an additional cooling effect surrounded by acid loving Rhododendrons, azaleas and ferns. Grasses and native & drought tolerant shrubs and perennials Are located throughout sunny perimeter garden areas.

KEARNEY STREET | St. HELENA

This St. Helena classic garden compliments the Craftsman style home through natural hardscape material and traditional plantings and lawns. A pool, outdoor kitchen, shade arbor and kitchen provide year round enjoyment.

LAFAYETTE HILLSIDE

This Lafayette hillside landscape updated the original plantings and lawn with replacement of drought tolerant perennials and grasses, decomposed granite paving, and trough water feature.

MT. GEORGE RESIDENCE

This popular weekend vacation home below Mount George was developed for outdoor enjoyment. A pool with spa, shade structure, outdoor kitchen terrace, upper living room terrace, and front garden terrace tie together through the use pf like hardscape and soft scape elements. Bluestone paths, syarstone walls, chip seal Lodi paths and parking areas, and use of native and drought tolerant grasses, perennials and shrubs are repeated throughout. Olives, Pistachio and Crape Myrtle provide color and vertical accent throughout the garden.

SCULPTURE GARDEN | NAPA

This whimsical outdoor garden extension for play, entertaining, home and work provides bocce, outdoor dining, gardening and sculptures throughout. Plant material is primarily low water use with grasses and pollinators and is drip irrigated.  

NEWCOMB STREET | SONOMA

This gardener’s garden was developed to provide the owner the opportunity to ‘Garden’. A pool was introduced into a sea of lawn surrounded by flowering trees, shrubs and perennials. Grasses are provided to provide movement and textural variety. Raised corten planters are used for vegetable sand cut flowers. Trees and perimeter hedges provide screening. Hardscape elements include bluestone and precast concrete step pads in gravel. 

OAK CIRCLE | YOUNTVILLE

A lot of outdoor activities are provided in this small garden inclusive of Gazebo with fireplace, Outdoor dining with shade structure and outdoor kitchen. Salt finish saw cut ashlar colored concrete is pride through front and rear gardens. A Cool color planting  palette provides soothing combinations of color and texture. Black Adder flax in garden pots provide accents.

SONOMA RANCH

This Sonoma Ranch residence  and gardens were built to replace the traditional home and oak woodland lost to fire. Modern hardscape, retaining wall and planting elements reflect a more modern era. Plant material is deer and drought resistant. Colors are subtle and subdued per HOA guidelines.

 

YOUNT MILL ROAD | YOUNTVILLE

This hilltop residence above Yountville crossroad was developed for outdoor use and entertaining. An organic pool with sunken kitchen, swim bar and rock diving board compliment the panoramic view shed. The upper terrace includes an outdoor kitchen with Fireplace and TV viewing. Bluestone paving and Syarstone retaining walls complment the drought tolerant and native plant material. Granite-crete paths provide a more stable solution to gravel.

FRANZ VALLEY RD | CALISTOGA

This rural property was develop with a selection of drive and drought tolerant plant material displayed thought the gardens. A new Pool, dining terrace, bocce court and fountain terrace provide opportunities to circulate though various use areas with planting and gravel path systems.

CHAPARRAL DRIVE | NAPA

This recently developed property in Silverado was rebuilt with a modern feel. Mediterranean, drought tolerant and native deer resistant plantings were developed to soften raw steep slopes. A firepit courtyard and raised vegetable garden was introduced for outdoor entertaining and view appreciation.
